Being Well Podcast: Time Management for Mortals with Oliver Burkeman

Forrest is joined by bestselling author Oliver Burkeman for an exploration of what’s really at stake in what we call “time management”. The post Being Well Podcast: Time Management for Mortals with Oliver Burkeman appeared first on Dr. Rick Hanson. This Wednesday Night Meditation included a 39-minute meditation, a 61-minute talk, and a discussion with Venerable Bhante Buddharakkita on The Ten (10 ) Ways of Dealing with Difficult Emotions. Bhante Buddharakkita was born in Uganda, Africa. He first encountered Buddhism in 1990 while studying and living in India. He was ordained as a Buddhist monk by the late Most Venerable U Silananda in 2002 at the Tathagata Meditation Center in San Jose, California. He then spent eight years under the guidance of Bhante Henepola Gunaratana at the Bhavana Society, in West Virginia.  He is the founder and Abbot of the Uganda Buddhist Center in Uganda. I hope you find it helpful, and you are welcome to join my free Wednesday Meditations – which are open to everyone! Meditation: The Ten (10 ) Ways of Dealing with Difficult Emotions. Generosity itself is a beautiful practice that opens and gladdens the heart, relaxes the contraction of “self,” and ripples out into the world to touch many people – and perhaps, eventually, even oneself. Additionally, many expressions of generosity are not about money. People offer attention, encouragement, and patience many times a day. Sometimes we withhold when it would be so easy, actually, to listen quietly for another minute or to offer a word of appreciation or simply a look that says, “I’m with you.” Try being a little more generous for a day and see what happens.
